Canton Lobster Fest and FVTC Ride
Join us for a ride and a meal!
The Farmington Valley Trails Council is excited to partner once again with the Canton Volunteer Fire Department, Canton Street Station as they celebrate their 42nd Lobster Fest. This is a fundraising event that will benefit both the FVTC and Fire Department, which are both non-profit organizations.
The FVTC will host a 30-mile trail ride on Saturday, August 17, 2024. The ride will start/end at the Canton Volunteer Fire Department on Canton Springs Road and will follow the “Loop”, riding the Farmington River Trail and the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail through the towns of Canton, Simsbury, Avon, Farmington, Burlington and then back to Canton. A portion of this ride is on the road.
All participants should be experienced riders who can maintain a riding pace of at least 12–14 miles per hour.
The ride will start by 10:00 am, with pre-ride information being given at 9:45 am. Please arrive by 9:00 to check in and get ready for a great ride.
Helmets are required for all riders. Highly visible clothing and lights are strongly recommended.
The cost for participation is $50.00. This fee will cover the pre-registered participant’s ride and 1 dinner (1 lobster, 1 ear of corn, 1 New England clam chowder and 1 beverage of your choice.) Pre-registration is required to receive your meal bracelet. The ride will be capped at 100 riders. Registration will close at 7:00 pm Friday, August 16th.
In the event of inclement weather, the ride will be canceled. There is no rain date, but the Lobster Fest will go on rain or shine. Meals will be honored for only pre-registered participants on Saturday from 12-9:30 pm. Arrangements will be made to pick up your meal bracelet. There will be no refunds.
Once you have enjoyed your ride and meal, stick around for entertainment which will be ongoing throughout the rest of the day.
Not interested in riding but would like to participate? We are always in need of route marshals and registration table volunteers and SAG support.
