Canton Lobster Fest and Bike Ride
Join us for a ride and a meal!
The Farmington Valley Trails Council is excited to partner once again with the Canton Fire Company No. 1, Canton Street Station as they celebrate their 40th Lobster Fest. This is a fundraising event that will benefit both the FVTC and Fire Department, which are non-profit organizations.
The FVTC will host a 30 mile trail ride on Saturday, August 20, 2022. The ride will start/end at the Canton Fire Company No.1 on Canton Springs Road and will follow the “Loop,” riding the Farmington River Trail and the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail through the towns of Simsbury, Avon, Farmington, and Burlington and then back to Canton. A portion of this ride is on road. All participants should be experienced riders who can maintain a riding pace of 12-14 miles per hour.
The ride will start at 10:00 am. Please arrive at least ½ hour prior to the start of the ride to check in.
Helmets are required for all riders. High visibility clothing and head/tail lights are recommended.
The cost for participation is $50.00. This fee will cover one pre-registered participant’s ride and 1 dinner (1 lobster, 1 ear of corn, 1 New England clam chowder and 1 beverage of your choice.) Pre-Registration is required and the ride will be capped at 100 riders. Registration will close at 5:00 pm Friday, August 19th.
In the event of inclement weather, the ride will be cancelled but the Lobster Fest will go on rain or shine. CORRECTION: Meals will be honored for pre-registered participants ONLY on Saturday from 12-9:30 pm. There will be no refunds.
Once you have enjoyed your ride and meal, stick around for entertainment that will be ongoing throughout the rest of the day.
Not interested in riding but would like to participate? We are always in need of route marshals, registration table volunteers and SAG support.
