National Trails Day Ride
Celebrate National Trails Day with the Farmington Valley Trails Council

In conjunction with National Trails Day, the Farmington Valley Trails Council (FVTC) will hold a bicycle ride on Saturday, June 4th. This event helps to promote public awareness of the rails-to-trails initiative in the Farmington Valley, attracting new and existing fans of the multi-use trail system.
This family-oriented event is designed for trail users of all abilities, and is fully supported until 12:00 pm.
This event will start and finish at the FCHT parking lot on Thompson Road, Avon, CT. The signature events are:
** 30 mile “loop” ride along the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail and the Farmington River Trail (start 9:00 am)
** 20-mile ride on the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail and Farmington River Trail to Collinsville and back. (start 9:30 am)
** 15-mile ride – on the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail and Farmington River Trail to Unionville and back. (start 10:00 am)
Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your start time to sign-in and get ready. All rides utilize the trail system and allow participants to enjoy some of the most spectacular scenery in the Farmington Valley. Light snacks (energy bars & water) will be provided at the start and end of the ride.
*Covid protocols will be in place- Wear a mask while at sign-in table and when near others.
The FVTC is proud to show off the finest trail system in New England and to let both veteran users and brand new participants know how much we love it.
$20.00 suggested donation per rider.
The Farmington Valley Trails Council is a volunteer organization and 100% of funds raised go directly to construction, beautification and maintenance of the trails.
Walk-in registrations accepted on the day of the event.
