In conjunction with National Trails Day the Farmington Valley Trails Council will hold a bicycle ride on Saturday, June 1st. This event helps to promote public awareness of the rails-to-trails initiative in the Farmington Valley, attracting new and existing fans of the multi-use trail system.
This family-oriented event is designed for trail users of all abilities, and is fully supported until 2:00 pm.
Will offer: 15 mile ride, 21 mile ride and 30 mile ride
Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your start time to sign-in and get ready. All tours utilize the trail system and allow participants to enjoy some of the most spectacular scenery in the Farmington Valley. Light snacks (energy bars & water) will be provided at the start.
The Trails Council is proud to show off the finest trail system in New England and let both veteran users and brand new participants know how much we love it.
$20.00 suggested donation.
The Farmington Valley Trails Council is a volunteer organization and 100% of funds raised go directly to construction, beautification and maintenance of the trails.
All events will start and finish at the Iron Horse Boulevard and Jim Gallagher Way parking lot Simsbury, CT.
The signature events are:
- Fun Ride – 30 mile “loop” ride along the Farmington River Trail (9:00 am)
- Fun Ride - 21-mile tour on the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail to the MA state line and back (9:30 am)
- Family Ride - 15-mile tour – on the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail (10:00 am)
Walk-in registrations accepted on the day of the event.
