TRAIL-WIDE CLEAN-UP DAY CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

The Farmington Valley Trails Council will hold its 9th annual Trail-wide Clean-Up Day on Saturday, April 14th from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. (The rain date is Sunday, April 15th).

This event provides you and your family an opportunity to improve the trail. Join us in getting the 32 (and growing) miles of trails in the valley ready for what we know will be a busy season of trail use!  The FVTC greatly appreciates the support we receive every year from all of our volunteers.  We couldn’t do this without your help!

Volunteers will cover a specific 1-mile stretch of the trail starting from one of six staging areas:

  • Red Oak Hill Road in Farmington
  • Brickyard Trail Shelter in Farmington
  • The River Trail Pavilion at RT 4 in Unionville
  • Sperry Park in Avon
  • Iron Horse Blvd in Simsbury
  • Copper Hill Road in East Granby

We are asking volunteers to wear protective clothing, sunscreen and a hat for protection.  In addition, please bring gloves, brooms, rakes, and clippers if you have them.

DON’T MISS THE FREE PICNIC at Flamig Farm in Simsbury from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. (www.flamigfarm.com
